I think I told you all that my dad was coming to Trail Camp to help with the photography.

I’ll keep posting them in the coming weeks.  The ones from the bottom of the water slide at the end of the obstacle course are just wonderful.

I’m going to pace a friend at Marathon 2 Marathon this weekend in Marathon, Texas.  She’s trying to qualify for Boston and I’m really looking forward trying to help with that.

I’m running 14 miles on the treadmill tonight because Thursdays are just rotten for getting an outside to run.  I’m supposed to run at a good clip, so theoretically I won’t be exiled to the garage for too long.

We had a mental health panel this year at Trail Camp that focussed on depression.  We showed a bit of Nikki Kimball’s movie “Finding Traction” to start with, and then I acted as moderator to a panel of friends — one a counselor, one a psychiatrist, and two who struggle with depression.  They talked about how running and the running community fit into their struggles.  At one point the conversation turned to post-race lows — when the future you’d been directing your thoughts and energy towards becomes the present  and you have to find a new focus.  I’m in a bit of that limbo now after the Trail Camp.  My next hard race will be the Houston marathon in January and then Rocky 100 in February.  In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out how to make the camp go forward with Alison, Jason and Joe.
