Planning

LizaLiza

Well, my Kleenex consumption and general malaise has diminished, so I figured I’d better get blogging.  This is what I managed to do from the sick bed.

Beautiful, no?  There’s nothing like a well laid out training plan to chase away the germs and phlegm.  I buy wholeheartedly into the training-that-gives-you-confidence-you-can-accomplish-your-race-goal-is-paramount philosophy.  I figure if I can check off all those cryptic colored items on the calendar, I’ll run well at Bandera.  I have also planned a nice reward for checking off all the items because motivation is as important as confidence.  And rewards involving babysitting and time alone with a cup of coffee are highly motivating.

Here is a picture of Asa and his friend enjoying everything about being small boys.  You can’t tell, but both of them are soaked from the waist down.  They spent about an hour trundling chunks of cement into a small pond — and you can’t do that without getting wet from the waist down.

Hope your day is wonderful.

So what is “Mood”? am I allowed to ask? Also, that’s a lot of core work! I need to get on the ball.

Just recording my mood on a 1-5 scale.  Wanted to see how it correlated with the workouts/everything else.  The core workouts are of different lengths — really they’re just M/W/F, but I put very small ones on the schedule the other days because I need routines — and I’ll push them to other days if I don’t.

It’s helping me make good decisions about rest days.  It’s nothing you couldn’t really chart/track on your own.  I’m just not particularly mindful or disciplined these days, so it makes it very easy for me.  I can show it to you sometime — maybe on a Tom and Eliot beer bottling night.

Looks extremely cryptic Liza! You’ll have to give out the code breaker in a future blog 🙂 best of luck with it anyway.

I’ll mail out a secret decoder ring if it works.  My mother pointed out that I have two Dec. 18ths and two Dec. 24ths on the calendar.  So here’s hoping the Plan is better than my ability to count.  It would be pretty sweet if it worked well and people started training in their fancy training software for butcher block paper and colored markers.

Well I don’t track my mine on software or on paper. That way I don’t depress myself with my low mileage.

Everything’s better on butcher block paper.  I think you need a plan.
