I taught most of the day outside in Austin, and I’m feeling pretty toasted. You’d think I’d be acclimatized to the heat, but what I’m acclimatized to is one, two and three hours of running in the heat — not standing outside for 6 hours and gesticulating wildly. (That’s the kind of teacher I am.) Specificity of training and all that.

Amazingly, my co-instructor runs paddling trips in Croatia and is giving me all sorts of great recommendations for the two days Eliot and I will be there after the 100k championships. How lucky is that??

I’ve got to get up early to get on the hotel treadmill, so I’m going to pull up an old murder mystery on Netflix and fall asleep to it.

What’s making me happy: My friend’s post 50-mile run Tastee Ice.

Running: 60 minutes easy with a few pickups

    Sport-specific fitness is truth. 🙂
Congrats to your friend! And where did he find that stand – I’ve never seen so many flavors. Might make it worth running the race LOL.
That’s excellent on Croatia – I hope the trip is wonderful regardless of the race outcome.
