Mostly dead 181/365

I maimed my phone running in the heat and humidity today, and I am sad… and surprised. Today wasn’t particularly hot and humid. Why put up a stink now, phone – two days before I leave town for the week???

I can get the middle of the phone screen to work, but the bottom row of icons and the top corners don’t respond. Well, that’s not entirely true. Every now and again, they’ll respond. I can receive texts. And I can type a few letters back. Not useful letters. But letters. Honestly, I wish the thing were just entirely dead; Mostly dead is more frustrating.

I’m going to put it in a container of rice and light a candle to Saint Eligius (Patron Saint of Tool Makers) and see what happens. Maybe I should get a Saint Jude candle at the grocery store too. (Patron Saint of Lost Causes.) Keep your fingers crossed.

What’s making me happy:

I pulled out my old Spanish flashcards to start beefing up Asa’s vocabulary, and I found this beauty.

– However daring they may be, they will not win the battle.

– Por atrevidos que sean, no van a ganar la batalla.

Bonus points: Guess where I learned Spanish?
