Scraping, FB live & helpful spatulas 42/365

Eliot (and the cat) made cinnamon rolls this weekend. “You’re gonna need to roll it thinner than that, buddy.”

I took this picture of the back of the house before I pressure washed it.

And then I forgot to take an after shot. That black staining is entirely gone, though.  Here’s hoping the actual painting of the wood goes so well.

The paint scraping we did after the pressure washing was a lot less satisfying. Everything looked worse afterwards. Really shabby. We only got the courtyard done. Our house is u-shaped, so we have this nice square space by the front door — which we call a courtyard — in an aspirational way. I’ll be very glad to get the rest of the house scrapped tomorrow, so we can start making things look better.

Here’s the link to the FB live session I did for Sharman Ultra. Thank you to everyone who asked questions!! It did not go as badly as I feared — despite a lot of nervous tooth sucking noises in the beginning. And I only had to play with a kitchen spatula for a few minutes — pretending it was a toe and demonstrating blister prevention taping.  Still, here’s hoping Ian doesn’t want to do anything like this again for a another year or three.

I finally got around to watching this – you were great! Good questions, fun answers, and a spatula that will never get a blister! (But I can imagine how stressful this was – it likely made scraping paint seem like fun. Or at least less like torture!)

Thanks, Allen!! I hope Ian never asks us to do it again, but if he does, I’m going to go with a whisk next time — or maybe a crock pot. 😉
