Blogging shape and saunasLiza
Oh my gosh, I’m really out of blogging shape. Phew. I feel like someone who’s resolved to get fit for the new year. Seven days in, and I’m ready to just hang out at the smoothie bar at the box gym.
I had a funny conversation about sauna training before races. Sure, it can enhance performance, but if you live in South Texas, where runners make it through June, July and August (and May and September) by retelling stories of cool November runs, suggestions to sweat profusely in a sauna — especially when it’s still in the 90s outside– sound obscene. Indecent. Depraved. I couldn’t convince that, unless you’re running somewhere hotter like Death Valley or the Sahara, adding heat to 90+ degrees is unconscionable. That’s okay though, because I’m right.
Off to bed now.
Running: 60 minutes easy. 30 minutes moderate hard.
