Puffin runner

LizaLiza

My parents brought Ruby a stuffed puffin back from their trip to Nova Scotia.  They’d gone to photograph the puffins there.

Anyway, the stuffed puffin does a puffin call when you squeeze it.  And I’ve got to say, it’s not the best sound.  Kind of chain saw-esque.  Click here for a taste.  And, yes, Ruby does love to squeeze that thing.

I’m a bit worked from my run in the heat this morning and from actual work, so this’ll be a tiny post.  Here’s Ruby from the weekend’s baby jogger jog.  She rebelled on the second loop and decided it’d be best if I pushed the empty jogger while she did wind sprints in her Crocs.

Today’s Run: 90 minutes easy with 8 x 3min/hard & 3min less hard

This workout was hard not so much because it was hard physically (though it was), but because it was mentally daunting.  48 hard-ish minutes.  I almost turned around and walked home after the warm-up.  Then I ran 12 more minutes slowly, and then I sighed and whined a bit, and then I did it.  I didn’t look at my Garmin, so I could avoid any negative feedback.  I certainly felt like I was running nice and hard.  No need to ruin that with objective data.

Hope you’re having a great day and you don’t hear any puffins.

I know the feeling – With all the fake news around at the moment, MY Garmin has definitely been getting in on the act 😉 Hope you are all keeping well.

First, that puffin photo is pretty amazing. Second, running sprints in crocs on gravel – yep, that’s your daughter. Third, Garmin data can always be looked at as a bit dubious, especially when it needs to be a bit dubious. (I was not brave enough to listen to the sound at work. But maybe it would work as a new ringtone.)
