Life finds a way and Pam’s article

LizaLiza

So Ruby’s fashion sense is coming along just fine.  And yes, she’s texting on that yellow wooden block.   It makes me equal parts sad and pleased in a “life finds a way” kind of way.  It also bolsters my determination not to chew gum around her.

I fell asleep at 6pm and now it’s midnight and I’m WIDE awake.  I just told a friend I can’t see myself getting back to sleep until the hot chocolate mix is entirely gone.  Oh well, I have 70 emails to respond to anyway.  My goal is to stick to the email and the sugar and stay away from Twitter and Facebook and news of the day.  Going to be tough.

Running: 50 minutes easy and my calf is just fine.  Whoop.

Band of Runners Trail Camp Update: I’m working on fundraising the money to bring the mentors to the camp now.  I don’t know if there are people out there who like fundraising, but there are certainly people who are good at it.  I am neither.  I mean, we’re doing fine and are on track, but I wish I could just do yard work to earn the money.

OK, gotta get more hot chocolate.

Check out Pam Smith’s wonderful “When Motivation Hits Rock Bottom” Trail Sisters Article on irunfar today.  It’s called She’s such a good and thoughtful writer.

She’s a little cutie Liza 🙂 glad the calf is good. I always think of this time of year as ‘maximum stress’ from a training point of view, the rest of the year is just tapering and recovering in between races – or is that just me? 😉
Yes, staying away from FB at the moment is tough at the moment!

Looking forward to cheering for you at Leadville! What are you racing (tapering and recovering from) between now and then?

Thanks for the plug, Liza – you are such a good and thoughtful person! I would give anything for my daughter to be fashion creative. Mine hates anything decorative (buttons, pockets, lace, logos except Nike (!!!), seams, ruffles, beads, patterns, pictures and definitely NO dresses and NO pink. preferably black, white or grey) – it is very boring!

Fashion creative is exactly the right way to describe it. I think I disappoint her daily with my “fashion” choices. She tells me often I need to wear dresses more.
