I’m starting to think about MdS as a restful vacation with a bit running thrown in. I’m not underestimating the desert...
Single parent no more and stortytelling
LizaOh my gosh you guys, Eliot and Asa get home tomorrow! I’ll be picking them up at the Megabus station downtown in the morning. (If any fairies are reading and want to do some housework, that’d be the best time.) (And if any single moms are reading and want a nap in the coming year, bring your kid over. I’ll spell you for a bit.)
I’ve started all sorts of painting projects around the house while Eliot’s been gone and I think I’m going to be up most of the night finishing them — which is just fine since I will not be the lone adult in the house the next day. If these past two weeks of non-stop Ruby have given me a glimpse into what our relationship will be like during our teenage years, I’m in trouble. I’ll keep you posted. 😉 (Did you know if you make a winky face icon on a Skype message, the thing keeps winking forever. Frightening.)
So I had this whacky idea about doing some recorded storytelling on this blog. I can’t attend any storytelling nights yet — I don’t even know if they exist in San Antonio — but it seems like recording a story once a month for this blog might be a step in that direction. Yeah? Nay? (I will take any lack of comments as “Why not? Give it try.”
I got to run 10 miles with my buddy Stefan this morning while his girls watched Ruby. I did not miss the baby jogger for one sweat-soaked minute. Let the training for 2:49 at Marathon-2-Marathon begin!
OK, I’ve got to go work on Eliot’s Father’s Day present. I was just going to put a bow in Ruby’s hair and hand her over, but I came up with something a bit better.
A client of mine posted this about his hometown. It works for San Antonio today, but I’m not savvy about how to change it. 🙂

I lost it at the meme. 🙂 Congrats on making it through the single parenting, Liza! Looking forward to hearing your stories. 🙂

Thanks, Julie!!

Storytelling would be a great step – well done for surviving the absence of your men! With the Skype winking icon – are you sure it doesn’t stop winking when you leave the page, in a fridge light, tree falling in the woods kind of way…. 😉
Liza
I would have responded sooner, but I was checking on the emoticon. Good stories to come!

Yes, please storytelling! Audio I can have on the run or even a bit of video – I’d watch b/c it’s you, usually I just skip as I can’t justify tying myself to computer for any longer than I already spend on it for work and voluntarily.
Liza
Thanks!!
