I am so tired from teaching today, I can barely see straight.  Mile 80 of a 100 tired.  It’s all the talking and gesticulating.  Being of Italian descent is hard.  We’re teaching at this great nature center complete with snakes and skinks.  I haven’t been able to work them into any scenarios yet.  We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

The hotel has this weird Miami/African animal hide decor.  Large turquoise blue and peach zebra print art.  Teal snake skin headboards.   Fake white floor boards.  And lots of soft spa music.    And more pillows on the bed than we own at home.

I ran 10 miles on the treadmill watching CNN and listening to podcasts.  I’ll update the log when I get back home and I’ve caught up on some sleep.

The best thing that happened today is that I found out that Nikki Kimball might be able to come to mentor at the RWB Trail Camp again.

If you having seen her movie, “Finding Traction” about running the Long Trail, you should.  Here it is.

    Hi Liza!
Thanks for the movie link. I love trailrunning movies or any running movies, really. Mostly because I have 2 kids (close to your kids age) that I take care of…well, because they are my kids. And, no treadmill to drown on. I run outside when I can and watch trailrunning movies when I can’t. Also, the movies help to pass the time when the tv is occupied by chipmunks or super heroes, which may be the same(?) Anyhow, I sure wish I knew about the wilderness training you did here in Houston. I had such a great time with yall at Trail Camp last year. One of my favorite parts of the weekend was, finding snake-bitten trail runners, examining feet and burning needles. Weird-o, I know. I’m going to prioritize the wilderness training and get myself a HAM operator license; maybe too ambitious, but I will try. Anyhow, hope to see you at the Rockys coming up Feb. Adios

Hope to see you too! The REIs in Houston put on the Wilderness First Aid classes. I’m often one of the instructors because I live close by — and there are only a few WMI instructors in Texas.
