I’m starting to think about MdS as a restful vacation with a bit running thrown in. I’m not underestimating the desert...
Tiny locust, margaritas and movies
LizaRuby woke up this morning and demanded to be taken down to the kitchen where she started calling, “Chips? Chips? Where are you???” I don’t know that she’s stopped eating tasty treats since she got to her Nonno and Nonna’s house. She also calls out for cookies with great success. Initially there was a little confusion as to whether she was saying “turkey” or “cookie,” but that was quickly cleared up and there’s been little to stop the tiny locust since.
I did get the treadmill 21-miler done. It was not pretty — especially since my parents have mirrored walls in their workout room — but I got it done. (Some of the ugliness was margarita-induced.)
45 years and going strong!
This is Daisy the Tolerant, my sister’s dog.
And then we saw some Star Wars.
Without this one. (We didn’t actually leave her in the basket.)
This week’s schedule:
Lauren
Seriously love reading your blog. I hope you got in some good movie watching on the treadmill…that makes it a little better, right?!
Liza
Thanks, Lauren! I watched one of the Charlie’s Angels movies. I find light/bad movies are the best. My parents have a really great collection of movies to choose from, but most of them are too good for my treadmill tastes. 🙂
Anne
Liza, I just want to say that you are my hero and inspiration. It was all I could do to get out for a 45 minute run after work last evening – how you got yourself onto the treadmill for 21 miles I will never know, and after a mexican dinner even!
I stumbled onto your blog several months ago and have really enjoyed it. Your determination is amazing!
Liza
Thanks so much, Anne! I promise you wouldn’t have been very inspired if I’d posted a video of the treadmill run. 😉

Liza – Was just wondering what the column labels are for your training planner. I have been struggling with a layout that I like and will use, and was taken with yours..
thanks

Liza, I thought about you and your 21 miles on the treadmill and am constantly amazed. I will absolutely never complain about my sessions in the garage again. One of these days, maybe after Squamish, I would love to have a margarita with you.
Liza
It’s a date!
