I’m starting to think about MdS as a restful vacation with a bit running thrown in. I’m not underestimating the desert...
A dog-hugging good time and resolution prep
LizaI’m usually surrounded by scraps of paper covered with possible New Year’s resolutions on December 30th. Not this year. This year, writing resolutions feels akin to blowing into the sails of a becalmed boat. I’m going to work on writing some tonight none-the-less, in hopes the wind will pick up.
Today consisted of dog hugging and
shirtless, backwards pizza-eating.
Three things that went well today:
1. The kids got to go ice skating with their cousins.
2. The cousins continued their movie-making with a trailer for a movie they’re calling “The Enemy.” Yesterday, they made a music video for my parents’ anniversary set to the Muppets’ “I’ll Get You What You Want (Cockatoo In Malibu) from the “Muppets Most Wanted.” I’ll try to get that uploaded soon in case any of you need a pick-me-up. 🙂
3. We took a our first family picture — ever. Cathy and Mike will celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary this year, but what with them living in Hawaii for a number of years, and Mike being deployed, and the kids being horribly unphotogenic, we haven’t managed to take one. I’ll post it as soon as the photoshopping process is complete. 😉
OK, I have to get 14 resolution-filled miles in on the treadmill.

Come run this, https://www.mcrrc.org/calendar-event/new-years-day-5k/. It maybe too too short for you, but is good fun.

I thought hard about trying to make this fly, but this trip home was too short. Thanks so much for the invite.
