Talking Cats

LizaLiza

OK, so the cats are not talking; My computer is.  One of the kittens wandered onto my keyboard and now the computer narrates everything I do.

“You are currently on a edit text.  To enter the web area, press Control-Option-Shift-Down Arrow.”

“Window minimized window 20 of 21.”

“You are currently on a Tab, 1 of 8. To select this option, press Control-Option-Space.”

These same words appear on the screen when I hit the mute button.

What the hell did the cat step on?   And how do I make it go away?    I should just hand the computer to Ruby for a bit and let her sort it out.  Or the other kitten.

Last week’s running volume: 31 miles.  Less than half of what was planned.  I’ve decided to think of it as a “Sick Week” rather than an “Overwhelmed by Kids and Work” week.  It’s more motivating that way.

This week:

Monday: 0 miles  (because most of last week’s running happened last weekend)

Tuesday: 7 miles with 10 x 1 minute hill repeats

Wednesday: 15 miles with 1 minute surge every mile (This one won’t happen until Ruby is in bed.  My plan is to just keep drinking coffee and have Eliot lock the door once I step outside.)

I can hear Ruby stirring in her new princess bed, so I’ll leave off for now.

(Let the Princess-ing begin!  This is also the guest bed.  You know you want to come and visit.)

It sounds like your (possibly evil) cat figured out how to turn on Narrator. I turned it on at work to see just how annoying it would get (VERY), and I hope you’ve figured out how to get it turned off. If not let me know.
