I’m starting to think about MdS as a restful vacation with a bit running thrown in. I’m not underestimating the desert...
Hello bloggy friends and Sir Ranulph
Here is a video of an excellent talk that Sir Ranulph Feinnes gave:
And here is my favorite picture of the explorer from his website:
Sir Ranulph is running Marathon des Sables this year. And my goal is to get an autograph. If I come in dead last, but return home with an autograph “for Asa,” the trip will have been a huge success. I’m flying from London to Ouarzazate on a plane the Brits have chartered to get to the race, and I’m hoping he’ll be on it. I’d rather not carry my autograph book into the desert — but I will.
OK, before I forget, here is Ruby’s mug shot.
Excellent, eh?
I have been working very hard lately, and the blog has suffered. This will not stand! Honestly, things have been a bit grim around here, and I’m looking forward to a desert reboot. Nothing like partially rehydrated freeze dried lasagna to feed an epiphany.
It is excellent! And so is Sir Ranulph’s! Love that his glasses are crooked. And, holy, Liza, what a journey you are on; it will all come together when you are there. Even superwoman has grim training weeks. You are fabulous!
Thanks, Andrea! You made my day.
Sir Ranulph is hilarious. Thanks for sharing the video (and the adorable mug shot). You certainly have a “can and will” attitude, Liza. Watch out, MdS!
Thanks, Julie! I need to get a locket for the mug shot.
