Sick house

LizaLiza

We’re all coughing and full of phlegm here at the Howard house.  (Come on over!)  Eliot’s the most healthy, so he’s bearing the brunt of things.  I think he bounced the phlegm-filled baby for 5 hours last night.  I don’t know because I was busy hacking and using up boxes of kleenex (Oh, who are we kidding? I haven’t been to the grocery store to buy actual kleenex.  I was wiping my nose with rolls of toilet paper.) in the guest bedroom.  I think we set a FKT for getting Asa ready for school this morning.  I can’t be sure, but I think it was only 17 minutes from the time I pulled his Star Wars PJ’s over his head to the time I was wiping dried egg yolk off his face in front of his classroom door.  I’m not proud about this FKT.  It wasn’t done in style.  But I am very thankful for the extra 90 minutes of sleep.

I didn’t get my run in as scheduled, so I’m going to have to treadmill it when Eliot gets home from work tonight — while he’s dethawing the pizza I’m probably going to feed my family tonight.

Did I tell you I was going to run a marathon in May?  I think I did.  Well, I did my first marathon-paced training run the day before yesterday.  It took me a while to warm up, but I was finally able to keep my pace in the right range.  It was really nice to feel like I had a shot at sub-3 eventually.  I have 15 miles at a good clip on the treadmill tonight.  Wish me luck.

Here is your gratuitous baby picture for the day.
