Baby recliner comfort, WOD, and Leadville

I saw this today on Facebook — which I check a lot these days while I’m nursing.  (It’s easier to do than type one-handed blog entries.)  It was on this blog site.   (Swedish?)  I think I saw the picture on the left a few days ago and thought uncharitable thoughts about red-and-black lady and her matching children — as Ruby rested comfortably on my padded belly.  Honestly, if it wasn’t for not wanting to tote the extra pounds up and down the trails –and not having a new wardrobe budget, I’d probably stay baby recliner comfortable.  Regardless, the lady on the right definitely seems to have her head on straight.  I love the wrinkled sheet behind her.  I could be friends with someone with wrinkled sheets like that.

In other news, Ruby has gained a full pound since delivery.  I feel as proud as any prize-winning cow might.  She’s out of newborn diapers and newborn-sized clothing.  Yeah, I did that.

So I’ve got a core workout, an upper body workout, and 6-miles to run tonight.  And a bit of uphill hiking on the treadmill.  Good thing I eschewed sleep.

And did you see how Leadville isn’t a Hardrock qualifier after 2013?

A note about the 2013 Leadville 100: The Leadville 100 includes many of the features that are important for a HR qualifier: high altitude, long climbs, potential for mountain weather, and more. However, the 2013 Leadville 100 ignored other traits of importance to the HR: environmental responsibility, support of the hosting community, and having a positive impact on the health of our sport. Because of timing, the 2013 LT100 will still be accepted as a qualifier for the 2014 HR. LT100 finishes will not be accepted as qualifiers for the 2015 HRH and beyond.”

Amen.

“the 2013 Leadville 100 ignored other traits of importance to the HR” > That’s what I call putting the proverbial foot down. Ouch.

What university has Ruby chosen for undergraduate work?

Yup about Hardrock. Waiting to plan out Ruby’s future until after the Trail Running Camp.
