Hello from where it rains

LizaLiza

I’m up near Conway, Washington getting ready to head out on a short NOLS course.  I do feel a bit like I’m playing Where’s Waldo with myself these days.  So yeah, I arrived I’m about to head up into the North Cascades and out onto some glaciers with five students.  I am not sure how long I will be able to downplay the fact that I’ve been living in South Texas for the last six (seven?) years.  “This point part of the ice ax is called the… the pointy part.”

It was raining when I arrived in Seattle and I found myself starting up at the sky like a chicken.  Rain.  Wild.

I have to go review my crevasse rescue skills now.  (What’s the difference between a crevice and a crevasse?)   I don’t head out until Thursday morning, so more tomorrow.

Check out Mountain Goat Running Retreats on FB to see some of the folks who are coming to help out with the Team RWB, Tejas Trails, Mountain Goat running camp.

PS.  I was informed that Asa had a very nice time on the playground yesterday.  🙂
