Much better
The drugs are working and my lungs feel about 98% functional again. And now I have a much better lead in for my asthma classes. “So there I was…”
I’m going to go out in an hour and take the lungs for a spin up Sugarloaf Pass. I also have to designate a pocket on my racing vest for the albuterol inhaler. It needs a little holster…
It was rainy and 47 degrees here yesterday and right now I’m wearing my puffy jackeT inside the room. I am not complaining. I know it’s going to be 102 in San Antonio today. I’ve got a hot caffeinated beverage next to me, another puffy jacket at the ready, and Asa is snoozing peacefully in the bed. No complaints at all.
Have you seen this pregnancy empathy video Timothy Olson made yet? Two thumbs up.

And lastly, I’ve been brushing up on my Leadville history this visit ($12 book on the back of the toilet.)
Question of the day? Why is the town named Leadville when it’s fortune was made from silver mining?

Liza,
Glad you’re feeling so much better. Can’t wait to see you ’round town.
Thanks Bryon! I figure I’ve already done Leadville with functioning lungs, so an appropriate next step was developing asthma.
Might I suggest running with a plastic bag (untied) over your head? Same effect, but more quickly reversible after the race.
Helpfully,
Bryon
Sugarloaf Pass? Are you running through Candyland, perhaps?
Sadly no. But many Jelly Bellies will be sacrificed after the race.
Glad you’re doing better. Have a great race this weekend!
Thanks Doise! Please eat some birthday cake for me.
The Oro City placer gold mining in 1860 was hampered by a heavy black sand. The gold miners then found that this was a lead mineral cerussite that had a high content of silver!
The city of Leadville was founded near the area where they found the most silver deposits in 1877. By 1880 it was one of the worlds largest silver camps!
You are ready to arrive! Next question: 2nd street?
Silverville doesn’t roll off the tongue…
True. And then everybody couldn’t have those cool Pb stickers on their cars.
