Belated Fourth

The annual Fourth of July neighborhood parade was awesome.  All the kids in the neighborhood bike, trike, or are pulled in a wagon a quarter mile to the park.

Then there’s watered down lemonade, hot dogs, cotton candy, watermelon and two fire engines from the fire station across the highway.  The former HOA president dresses up like Uncle Sam and rides in a decorated red Miata down the parade route.  Grandparents galore.  90 degrees and humid.  You are invited next year.

Training for Leadville is going well.  I’m going to do some stair work at the UTSA parking garage today.  Should be interesting.  There comes a point when a runner needs to accept that they don’t live in the mountains, but I haven’t reached it quite yet.
