Treehouses

While I was tending to bloodied knees and heads and one smashed face out at Nueces, this is what was going on in our backyard.

Our friend Tom gave us the pieces of his playscape months ago and they’ve pretty much just laid in a sad pile in the backyard since then.  And then Eliot’s dad came to town and the boys got busy.  Check out this craftiness:

This is where you want to drink your morning coffee.

He’ll be working on some railings soon, so kids won’t be pitching off the platform to their deaths once they get up there.

AND he got the garden ready for planting.

I’ll post the picture of all of us eating tomatoes in the treehouse as soon as they’re planted and ripe.

  • Domingo

Nice! Hope to see you soon.

  • Pommers

Cool! Great handiwork. Asa will be free-climbing in no time!

    • Liza Howard

As long as he doesn’t do any free soloing like his father did.

  • Amanda T. Alvarado

Awesome! Can’t wait to go and try to climb that wall! ;0) Hey! Beginners have to start somewhere!
    And a garden! Nice!

    • Liza Howard

I’ll get the harness ready.  ;) (PS. He wants to add a zip line.)

  • Emily

Awesome…reminds me my childhood treehouse high in an oak tree.  My brother built it but I spent countless hours playing there…wish I could do something like this for Evan…or at least that he could enjoy Asa’s!

    • Liza Howard

Might have a long layover in the Vegas airport in April…

  • Emily

and BTW – it looks like the “Big” version of Asa up there…

    • Liza Howard

I know.  Asa doesn’t have much Marcello on the outside.

  • Olga

See, it’s good for all to get out of the house! I had a blast with you:) Did you get my email, or did it vanish in cyberspace?

    • Liza Howard

      Same!  Wrote back.

  • Lauren B

Who needs railings?  I’ll drop Huck off this afternoon. ;)

    • Liza Howard

      Laughed out loud.

    • Liza Howard

      It’s “have lain” isn’t it?

  • TBB

Looking good! That Eliot guy has skillz!

    • Liza Howard

      I know it!

  • Alison Bryant

That is one awesome treehouse!  Better plant some carrots in the garden  :)

    • Liza Howard

So true.  Hours and hours of entertainment.  I wonder if they have safety peelers…

  • Jay Danek

I really should have taken the offer to help build the treehouse, very impressive.

    • Liza Howard

Then you wouldn’t have gone camping!

Grandpas rock!  My dad built a 6 x 10 foot playhouse for my kids.  Mind you, this is not the man I grew up with…..
