Sleet and cold student toes

LizaLiza

It sleeted on me and the young students out at Enchanted Rock on Sunday!  Sleeted!  As if it were February and we weren’t in south Texas.  The little students were cold before the sleet and popsicle-like afterwards.  I spent a great deal of energy running them around to keep them warm.  I also bared my belly for some hand and foot rewarming.  That’s right. Your cotton-sweatshirt-hoody-wearing-forgot-my-gloves kid won’t get frostbite on my belly’s watch.  Taught the foot-rewarming dance and everything.

(Saturday was lovely.)

I felt like I’d been run over by a truck by the time I got home.  I did my own rewarming/reenergizing with a jar of almond butter and a large spoon.

My knee’s none the worse for the 8 miles of hiking I did over the weekend, so I’m going to start training again tomorrow and see how things go.  Time for some core work now.

That’s terribly sweet and maternal of you; I’d tell them to put their hands in their armpits and learn their lesson. Are you running or volunteering at Nueces?
