Ultrarunning Mom

Homeward bound

We are driving back from Thanksgiving in Houston right now and the rain is impressive.  We’ve got Rabbit Ears Radio blasting in the back and my lap is full of notebooks and day planners.  (If I move to a 29-hour day, I should be able to wipe the To Do list clean by New Year’s.)
We saw the new Muppet movie yesterday afternoon.  (Don’t worry Mom and Dad, Asa already asked if he could pleeeeeeease see it again.)
The very best part of the movie is watching all the people come out of the theater singing the Mahna Mahna song.  A couple of dads were dancing with their small children as they walked through the lobby.  Life is suffering and all that, but seeing a couple hundred people amused by rats skating across a stage on soap suds, makes you forget and want to  want to put on a bright colored “Life is Good” t-shirt.
Also Asa ate a tub of popcorn as big as his torso and did not throw up on anyone, so life was indeed Good.
AND Eliot and I went running together.  He’s a climber, not a runner, so runs together are particularly sweet.  He said he might even let me write him a little training plan, — but that might just have been the second slice of pumpkin pie talking.
