Ultrarunning Mom

Granny time

My mother in-law has been in town for the past few days and Asa’s been eating up the unconditional granny-ing.  Last night he convinced Kate to read him seven chapters of James and the Giant Peach.  She doesn’t get to visit much, so there wasn’t all that much wheedling involved.  “One more chapter?”  “Okay.”

I didn’t have a run scheduled today, so I took advantage of some granny sitting to do errands that had been hanging out on the To Do list for a long while.  It was all pleasant and uneventful.  I’ve got an hour of hills “at a relaxed pace” slated for tomorrow.  I don’t know that I have a relaxed hill running pace.  I have a nice relaxed hill walking pace.  And I’ve got a huffing and puffing, thighs burning, hill running pace.  There’s not a lot in between, so we’ll see how it all pans out in tomorrow’s 90 degree temps.

Running: Zilch.

Core: 30 minutes

Push-ups:  5,6,4,4,7

Funny how much I look forward to hearing about the lives of others. By the way, with all those push ups, when you gonna show off them guns? Ha! My wife did the 110 push up thing, one buff momma!
