Eliot and I ran 15 minutes uphill through farmland this morning — and then 10 minutes gently back downhill.  And so far so good on the foot.  Going to be a good day.  🙂

We’re staying with my friends Joe and Carol outside of Cork here.  I met Joe my first day of college and we’ve been friends since.  He did a study abroad program in Ireland during his junior year and that’s where Carol came into the picture.  And now they have four little boys with gorgeous accents.  Yesterday we went to Kinsale, which is a little fishing village/ tourist attraction with lots of colorful shops and houses.  We did some tramping around a ruined fort and then headed down to a tiny beach.  Most all the kids wore wetsuits in the water.  Irish water is not warm.

We’re about to load into the car to do some more wandering, so I’ll leave off for now.  Fingers crossed the foot will feel okay for a 30 minute run tomorrow morning.

I give thanks every time I have to pull out my fleece. But I can’t wait to get home too. Remind me of that when I’m sweating eating breakfast. 🙂

I’m going to something early in October if I can so I feel like I have some purpose and urgency in my training, but I really do want to do Javelina too. I’m going to see how my foot holds up and maybe I could do both…
