I’m starting to think about MdS as a restful vacation with a bit running thrown in. I’m not underestimating the desert...
Sausage on a stick
LizaThis is our team’s strategy for blocking goals. If you put enough of the little guys into the goal itself, they sometimes prevent the other team from scoring.
Today was the last game of the season. I am sad. I’ve gotten used to the weekly doses of mind-numbing adorable. I’ll be counting the days until the Fall season. It seems likely their uniform socks will fit their feet by then. Right now we have to stuff an extra two inches of lime green sock into Asa’s shoes each game.
So there were doughnuts at the post game celebration.
I begged off attending the music festival today and kept my foot under a bag of ice — surrounded by piles of books, magazines, and a very large watermelon. Eliot called midday and told me Asa was eating a sausage on a stick. I imagine a funnel cake was consumed as well. I feel like I’ve missed the boys first steps. Oh well, my toes look a bit less like sausages on sticks thanks to my efforts.
Did you see this fun article in Outside magazine about a recent attempt at persistence hunting?

All these little soccer boys are so cute! I want to eat them up!!!

There was a pretty little girl on the other team today and she pushed Asa from behind and knocked him to the ground during one play. You should have seen his face. The foundation of his ideas about pretty little girls was severely shaken.

nice… better he learn young than be upset later in life…

Sorry about all my recent comments, but Blogger won’t let me leave comments, so you’re getting the overflow. I once wrote about eating all the foods-on-a-stick at the Minnesota State Fair in one day (23000 calories and hundreds of $’s). But what you really reminded me of was when I questioned why hockey goalies aren’t 1000 lbs. and wedged into the goals – Not only didn’t I get an answer, I don’t get invited to watch games any more.

Did you really eat all those food-on-a-stick? Impressive. I think my last food-on-a-stick was a corndog — sometime in the last century.

Ok, that it too cute!

It should say, “That is too cute.” I should take this as a sign to go to bed.
