I’m starting to think about MdS as a restful vacation with a bit running thrown in. I’m not underestimating the desert...
Tents and radiationLiza
This is what’s going on at our house right now. Asa has a little friend over for the night, so we felt obligated to set up the tent. It’s warm enough to set it up outside (it’s going to be in the mid-80s tomorrow), but they’re three, so we figured we’d better do some indoors camping. I can hear them snorting at each other like pigs as Eliot tries to read a bedtime story. Happy as three year-old clams. We’ll see how much sleeping actually takes place.
There have been a lot of references to the Chernobyl disaster in the news what with what’s transpiring in Japan. Chernobyl happened just before we moved to West Berlin in 1986. My dad was already in the walled city waiting for us to arrive. He was a runner, and I remember him calling and telling us how he tried to go out for a run in a light drizzle and was told by the hotel guards that it was a bad idea. Looking back on it now, I’m thinking, “Only a runner!”
Sleep: 8 hours!! Two days in a row. Pinch me. 😉
Food log: My friend recommended I take pictures of my meals and then record them at the end of the day. This has made the whole food log a lot less cumbersome. Sadly, I deleted all of yesterday’s pictures thinking they were from the day before. Take home message: Add a bit of variety to the menus.
