I have three things to tell you.
1. The weather is absolutely beautiful today. Mid 70s, no humidity. Hello November, let’s go for a run.
2. The scene at the Howard’s house this morning.
OK, Asa let’s hop in the car. Mom just needs to get the car key.
An hour of desperate searching on countertops, shelves, under clean piles of laundry, under dirty piles of laundry, in various bags stuffed full of various things. Asa is interrogated. Hopes of getting long run done while he’s in school are dashed. Overwrought call to good friend who promises rescue. Key is found behind picture frame where it was hidden yesterday — to prevent Asa from stomping on it during a timeout. Run is salvaged.
3. Eliot, Asa and I are camping out at Bandera tonight to support our friends running the Cactus Rose 50 and 100. It’s supposed to be in the 30s tonight, so Eliot will have to fight me for the Asa heater. That boy can put out some thermal units. Lots of s’mores will be eaten. Stories of the race, breakfast tacos and boy-ventures to come.

Was thinking as I saw kids in costume today… Wasn’t Asa going to be a combine harvester for halloween? Think you need to post pictures of that one!
Brush collection truck. Picture tomorrow. Use your imagination like Asa did when you see it.
