Running was the easy part

LizaLiza

Weekend Schedule
Saturday:
8:00am-2:00pm: Teach (Pretend to have an asthma attack and broken clavicle 7 times for students’ final practical scenario.)
2:00pm-3:30pm: Drive to Inks Lake for 60k (More on that once Asa goes to bed.)
3:30pm- 7:00pm Help out, visit with friends, and introduce my co-instructor, S., to the ultra-running scene. It’s her first trail race. (More on that later too.)
7:00pm-1:30am Run and fertilize landscape.
Sunday:
1:30am-2:30am: Sit with foot in bag of ice and eat Jelly Bellies.
2:30am-4:00am: Drive S. back to Austin to catch 7am flight. Screetch to stop in front of large deer on highway.
4:00am-7:00am: Drive to San Antonio to pick up Asa from sitter (Frequent rest breaks because I can’t keep my eyes focused.)
7:00am-12:00pm: Happy reunion and naptime countdown begins (4 hours 59 minutes)
12:00pm-2:00pm: Nap!!!!!
2:00pm- 7:30pm: sandbox, pool, library, and bedtime countdown (2 1/2 hours to go!)

Running 60k in the dark was certainly the easy bit.

      Dear Dr. Slug,
I plan on napping with Asa the rest of the week. Also, is it wrong to spike your toddler’s oatmeal with Benadryl?
      Sincerely,
      Stay at Home Mom

Totally acceptable to spike a child’s oatmeal. It’s proactive against his possible seasonal allergies. Way to be a good mom! 🙂

I enjoyed being part of the first 20 hours of your long Saturday. I’m glad that you made it safely back to Asa (hopefully no more deers!) and were able to take a well-deserved nap. My eyes closed as soon as I got on the plane to Maine. =)

My thoughts and good vibes are with you for the next few weeks as you prepare for Leadville.

No more suicidal deer thank goodness. Can’t wait for our next course/race combo.
